The space
Trewarven was built in 1927 and the owners have retained many of its period features. Wonderful views are enjoyed from the comfortable conservatory and balcony. A charming living room with French doors leads into the conservatory where you’ll find a Han original working fireplace. There are four bright bedrooms, two of which are in the attic space. The kitchen and bathroom are simple but functional. The garden is a tranquil haven from which to enjoy the bird-life, a snooze in the hammock, the evening sun and a BBQ.
Guest access
You will have access to the shared conservatory, lounge, kitchen, dining room, garden and bathroom of course. You are also welcome to paint in the studio and art lessons are available!
Newlyn is full of steep narrow lanes but we can be reached by a nice wide road from the top and the steep turning is easier if taken from the top. If you have a very large vehicle or you don’t like driving up the lane, it may be easier to park on the road at the bottom of lane. Most people get used to the narrow roads quickly but occasionally people prefer to use the public car park down the hill; it all depends upon how comfortable you feel behind the wheel!
Children should be supervised at all times on the balcony and their safety is the parents responsibility.
Guests are invited to make themselves at home and to enjoy all of the facilities with a mindfulness that the house is our home.
Other things to note
I bought the house four years ago and have been busy updating and refreshing it. We love it but it’s still not quite perfect: The bathroom is tiny, with a bath/shower combination, but there is an outside utility and toilet (which has an extremely noisy airlock!). The kitchen is basic, clean and practical and is gradually being updated, but it’s not the highlight of the house. The conservatory is wonderful but is undergoing constant maintenance.
